KC
runs Amok, and brings Tribe Circus - Ep.42-46 |
KC can be a bit of a wild kid, and with all the leaders
gone to Hope Island, there's no stopping him. His first bit of vandalism
is to spray-can all over Bray's mural. Ryan is horrified and confiscates
the paint. KC pleads with Ryan not to hit him, for that's what his
dad used to do. When Ryan explains to Patsy and Cloe what happened,
it seems KC told them he grew up in an orphanage and never knew his
parents. |
KC evidently knows where to obtain more spray cans.
Patsy and Cloe are dismayed to find Porky now has stripes. KC watches
with high amusement as the girls head off to wash him down. |
Next, KC heads for the Casino. Trading in a pile
of batteries stolen from Jack for gambling chips, he joins a
game of poker. |
|
|
KC loses the lot and accuses the girl of cheating. He
complains to the management but gets nowhere. KC is determined to
recover his losses, and promises "Ill be back!" He returns
to the Mall to steal more of Jack's batteries. |
Unfortunately for KC, Jack is in the workshop
taking the splint off his leg. He will have to find something
else to trade.
Cloe spots KC near the storeroom where Porky is kept. KC has been
missing for a long time and she is curious where he was. KC
ignores her questions and takes Porky, saying the pig needs
a walk. Cloe is very suspicious and insists on going too.
Only when they get inside the Casino does Cloe realize what's
happening. Cloe is close to tears at losing Porky. KC assures
her he will win him back. |
|
|
Back at the Mall, the Hope Island party have
returned, bringing with them some computer files downloaded
from the computer there, and some samples of Virus Antidote
- at least they hope that's what it is.
Within hours Lex falls sick, showing the initial signs of infection,
but he refuses to try the Antidote, because they aren't sure
that's what it is. Instead he seeks help from Tai-San. She sends
him on a spiritual path, a way of truth and honesty.
Lex puts himself on trial, hoping to set things straight with
everyone at the Mall. His self-imposed punishment is exile -
walking the streets. |
|
|
At the Casino KC's luck changes, and he begins to recover
his losses. But he doesn't know when to stop, and as before, he loses
the lot. With just a few credits left, Cloe takes things into her
own hands. Her game is roulette! |
|
|
Cloe plays through the night and wins a fortune,
certainly enough to buy Porky back. She wakes KC to tell him
the good news. KC is delighted, now he can get back into the
poker game. No way! Cloe knows when to stop and takes her winnings
to buy Porky back.
Unfortunately the manager doesn't do refunds - especially when
he's feeling hungry. At KC's signal they throw her winnings
in the air. As those around grab what they can, Cloe sneaks
round the back, grabs Porky, and heads for the Mall.
KC isn't so lucky. He is detained and held for questioning. |
|
|
|
|
The Casino is owned by a tribe known as Tribe
Circus. Their leader, Top-Hat, will want to know where KC got
all those good batteries and the pig. Maybe there's more where
that came from?
KC lies through his teeth, trying to protect the Mall and the
Mallrats, but Top-Hat isn't stupid and soon KC has told him
all he wants to know.
KC is forced to lead the way. Even now he takes them round in
circles. Top-Hat gives him once last chance to stop playing
games. |
|
|
Meanwhile, Lex has already found
the Casino where he feared KC might be in real trouble, but
he was too late. KC was already pointing the way to the Mall.
There's only one person who might be able to help the Mallrats
- Ebony.
Ebony is unsympathetic, and totally unwwilling to help. She
has Lex locked up in a cell. |
|
|
|
|
Jack is first to spot Top-Hat on the CCTV monitor.
Top-Hat likewise spots the camera and asks KC for the quickest
way in.
Jack and Dal's booby traps in the sewers certainly slow Tribe
Circus down, but that's all they do. Before long the green door
bursts open and battle commences.
KC's function as a snitch is over. He is now totally ignored
and forgotten. That suits KC fine, and while the fight is going
on, he lies low, avoiding further attention. Even Patsy and
Cloe join the fight, aiming the contents of a fire extinguisher
at their enemies. |
|
|
The Mallrats put up a good fight, but they are
outnumbered and soon their reserves of tricks and traps as well
as physical energy come to an end. Top-Hat has won, and he demands
a victory feast, to be prepared by the girls.
All this time KC is forgotten, creeping from one hideout to
the next, watching the action.
Then with the feast over, and the guys imprisoned behind the
grille, Tribe Circus start to take advantage of the girls. |
|
|
|
|
KC hears the girls scream. Seeing that he is still free,
Bray implores him to wind up the grille to free the boys, but he's
too scared. Zandra screams as Top-Hat drags her into the furniture
store. She's the wife of his best mate and hero Lex. KC covers his
ears to block out the screams. Then a new, brave KC finds courage.
He climbs a rope up to the balcony and makes straight for the furniture
store where Top-Hat is about to rape Zandra. |
Pulling him off, KC kicks Top-Hat in the nuts. "You
are a very naughty little boy" he responds, wincing with pain. |
Top-Hat claims he had great plans for the Mallrats,
to give them positions of power and responsibility. But all that has
changed because they showed him such little respect. Before leaving
the Mall with his tribe he sets fire to a pile of furniture and anything
else that will burn. It is just the other side of the grille where
all the Mallrats are now trapped. There's no escape. |
Lex at last persuades Ebony to help the Mallrats.
They are shocked to see how old he looks.
But there's a catch: Ebony was only willing to help because Lex
told her about the Hope Island Antidote. She takes it all, plus
takes Lex to test it on, plus takes Bray as a hostage. |
|
|
|
With Bray taken by Ebony, Amber is irritable and
liable to erupt at anyone or anything. KC finds himself at the
receiving end when she finds him sneaking around in the Market
area. |
Amber |
|
What are
you doing here? |
KC |
|
I want to
help |
Amber |
|
You can't.
Leave NOW. You're the reason we're in this mess; you brought
them here |
KC |
|
Not the Locos;
they had nothing to do with me. |
Amber |
|
I'm supposed
to be grateful for that am I? You are a pathetic little kid,
playing games in a grown-up world, KC. Just get out of my face! |
|
|
Spying
on Ebony - Ep.48-49 |
|
|
Dal finds a broken radio controlled helicopter
in the Service area. Then he senses that someone is sneaking
about - it's KC again, upset because Amber wants to throw him
out for bringing Tribe Circus to the Mall. Dal assures him that
a vote would have to be taken first.
After teaching KC a new word ("Please") they lift
it down, then ask Jack for some batteries.
Jack is having problems with the Hope Island computer files.
He has tried every conceivable password. KC suggests "Please".
Jack scoffs, and types it in to emphasize KC stupidity.
It works! |
|
|
The Mallrats have almost no food left. Amber volunteers
to go food foraging, but in reality she wants to find out where Ebony
is holding Bray. She returns to the Mall a lot happier than of late.
No, she didn't get any food, but she did find Ebony's headquarters,
the Horton Bailey Hotel. |
The girls decide to sleep together in the Furniture
store, just like when they first moved into the Mall. Tai-San covers
the mirror as part of her Feng-Shui improvements. Suddenly there's
a hideous noise that sends them all to the balcony. KC is playing
with his new toy! Even Amber has to chuckle. |
Now that Amber knows where Bray is, all she can
think about is trying to rescue him. Most of her plans would
be suicidal. She just isn't thinking things through.
Dal and Ryan put forward a plan, to fly the helicopter over
the Hotel with a camcorder attached. Maybe they might get footage
of Bray somewhere in the grounds.
Amber gives the go-ahead.
Two hours later, Ryan and Dal head for the Hotel.
The footage they bring back distresses Amber to the core. Ebony
was astride Bray by the pool, rubbing sun lotion into his back. |
|
|
In Ep.49 Lex returns to the Mall, having been
thrown out by Ebony after he refused to swallow any more of
the Antidote samples, and poured the rest into her swimming
pool. In the sewers he sets of the alarm system and triggers
a booby trap. They find him half buried under gas cylinders
dressed as a Loco.
Zandra reluctantly takes care of him, then one morning makes
a discovery. Lex is looking slightly better. This can only mean
the Antidote is working. |
|
|
The Mallrats have almost no food left, and Trudy
asks for volunteers to go out foraging. Ryan is the obvious
choice, but Lex is still too weak to go with him. Instead it
is decided that KC will go. They will leave first thing tomorrow.
Jack wakes everyone in the middle of the night. He and Dal have
been searching the Hope Island computer files and have concluded
there's something pretty important at Eagle Mountain. He thinks
they should go there.
Eagle Mountain is 30 miles away. They all thinks he's 'lost
it' and go back to bed. |
|
|
Ryan and KC set off at dawn
to find food, but Salene unexpectedly insists on joining them.
When they refuse and leave her behind, somehow she manages to
get ahead of them several blocks away. Since there's no way
to get rid of her they just have to accept her.
They come to a warehouse guarded by Locos, a sure sign that
there is food inside. Salene is to watch the front while Ryan
and KC break in at the rear. |
|
|
|
|
The Locos investigate a crash coming
from the rear and catch KC red-handed, exiting from a window. Salene
steps forward to plead for her little 'brother'.
The Locos are prepared to be lenient, since Salene is so pretty and
if she is willing to go inside with them... Ryan creeps up and smashes
their two heads together. |
When Ryan, Salene and KC return with
the food, they are amazed to see Lex looking so well.
As they share out the food, Tai-San comes to the balcony to tell everyone
about her dream. It was about a Mountain - and "A great big beautiful
Eagle." Jack isn't the only one who is stunned. |
Journey
to Eagle Mountain - Ep.51-52 |
KC's story in Season 1 is pretty much
told. The Mallrats set out on foot for Eagle Mountain. Spike leads
a rebellion against Ebony at the Hotel. Bray helps her to escape but
they find the Mall deserted. Trudy has left a note for Bray. Ebony
takes Bray to her secret getaway bus. With Bray driving they soon
catch up with the Mallrats and take them on board. But it breaks down
half way there and they have to walk once more. |
Setting out from the Mall. Their handcart
soon falls apart and they have to carry everything. |
Aboard the bus. Bray drives it through a
barricade, pelted with stones by those who wanted to stop them leaving
the City. |
The bus has broken down. While Dal tries
to fix it, KC plays with Bob. |
Lex tells tall stories, about
how he and Ryan stole Top-Hat's hat. KC believes every word. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Eagle Mountain turns out to
be the location of a satellite tracking station. Jack finds
the light switch and KC finds some food. At least they won't
starve just yet. |
|
|
|
Now they have found Eagle Mountain,
and what is there, Jack has no idea how this can help. Dal discovers
how to make it search the skies, but it finds nothing.
The Mallrats are somewhat disillusioned. This was Jack's and Tai-San's
quest - to find answers about the Virus. They have found nothing.
Lex and Zandra announce they are leaving the Mallrats to start their
own life together. KC wants to go with them so they suggest he might
be their butler. Ryan and Salene agree to adopt Cloe and Patsy and
form a family together. Bray and Amber kiss and make up. Then comes
a pre-recorded message, suddenly, unexpectedly, from a satellite in
orbit above. |
|
Attention.
This is a prerecorded message.
If you are listening to this, the only hope for
humanity lies with you, whoever you are.
Listen very carefully to what I have to say next. |
