Season 1 Ep.01. Everyone knows this one. Zoot asks Lex why he and his group want to be in Zoot's tribe, the Locusts. Lex begins "Because you're...." but can't think of a suitable word. His eye catches the graffiti on a nearby rail-car. Lex begins again, "because you're scandalous!" It does him no good, but that's another story. So Lex can read, even if the letters are in a very unconventional style. But later in the season... Episode 35: Lex "cooks" breakfast for himself and Zandra, with KC's help. KC takes another can from the food store. Lex asks him what it is. KC stares at the label a little embarrassed, hoping Lex will grow impatient and read it himself. Lex realizes KC can't read, but it's no biggy, 'cos he can't read himself.   Season 2 Ep. 11: Ryan tries to teach Lex to read using Kiddies' reading books. Without much success. Many more instances follow through 5 Seasons, demonstrating that Lex never learns to read.
